FAQs
What documents do I need for my trip abroad?
For destinations in Europe, you can use your identity card, as long as it is valid and eligible for travel abroad (if it is not, the document will say "not valid for travel abroad"). If possible, we recommend requesting an electronic identity card.
For destinations outside Europe, a passport and visa are required. In this case, we will inform and guide you through the process at embassy/consulate.
IMPORTANT: Before leaving, always remember to visit www.viaggiaresicuri.it and www.poliziadistato.it for up-to-date information.
What does my typical day look like?
Who will I share my room with?
Will I find international students?
What should I do on my first day of school?
Depending on the type of accommodation, you may stay in single, double, or multiple rooms, with a shared or private bathroom. If you are staying in multiple rooms, you can indicate whether you prefer to share the room with a friend (if you are traveling together), Italian students of the same age as you, or international students (this option is not always guaranteed).
The school rules are very strict, and for this reason, you will always be placed with students of the same gender. Same as class composition, the school always tries to arrange rooms for students of the same age group (generally within a maximum of three years).
With a host family, accommodation is generally in a single, double, or triple room, shared with Italian students of the same age or international students of the same gender. You can indicate whether you prefer to share the room with a friend (if you are traveling together).
Your preferences during registration are always taken into consideration, but it is not possible to guarantee with certainty that you will be the only Italian in the host family or that you will share a room with a foreign student. Unless they have adequate space, a family will not accommodate more than four students.
Yes. The schools we work with host students from other parts of the world. During your language course and extracurricular activities, you'll have the opportunity to make international friends and to experience other interesting cultures.
Italy is the country that sends the most students on Study Abroad programs, so you're likely to find other groups of Italians as well.
On the first day, all students will take a test (if it wasn't done before departure) to assess their language proficiency and ensure they're placed in the most suitable class.
Don't worry, it's not an exam! The school staff will also provide you with all the information you need in order to fill in your Study Abroad register. A tour of the college/campus is also planned, which provide you with the essential information for your travels.
Every study trip is different, but what they all have in common is a program packed up with activities and excursions, ensuring you have the best experience ever!
Your day begins with breakfast at your accommodation, then it's straight to class for a dynamic language lesson! In between lessons you will have breaks to rest and chat with other students. Then comes lunchtime: students living in college/campus/residence will eat lunch in the school cafeteria, while students staying with families can enjoy their packed lunch in the common areas or perhaps relax in the school park.
In the afternoon, you can go on excursions to discover nearby places (always accompanied by the staff), or participate in the fun sports and recreational activities organized by the school, building friendships with other international students.
After activities, students will return to their accommodations, where they can relax and dine with their host family or in the cafeteria with the other students.
But the day isn't over yet! For students staying in college/campus/residence, every evening is organized with a full program of activities, such as talent shows, barbecues, treasure hunts, and discos! For students staying with families, however, some evenings are free: they can choose to spend them with their hosts or organize activities with other friends.
The important thing is to always inform your host family and don't forget your curfew! And now, everyone, get to bed and rest for another fantastic day!
We recommend bringing comfortable, practical, and cozy clothing. It's always a good idea to bring a windbreaker, as the weather can be very changeable. You'll also need pajamas, an electrical adapter, a travel hair dryer, and some general medication.
But don't worry! Before you leave, we'll provide you with all the information you need to make your stay abroad unforgettable!
